Our Story
A journey of faith, grace, and God's faithful provision
The Beginning
Providence Christian Church was planted in the early 2000s with a small group of 8–10 families with a shared desire to see a church established on the foundation of God's Word and for the glory of His name.
Elders Established
The Lord raised up elders to shepherd the flock (Acts 14:23), and many were equipped to serve according to the gifts God had given them (1 Peter 4:10).
Pastor Aristide Joins
Pastor Aristide began serving at Providence Christian Church as part of a team of elders, later becoming senior pastor in late 2016.
Growing in Grace
What began as a small gathering has become a community committed to knowing God, living under His Word, and making disciples of Jesus Christ.
"Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it."
Psalm 127:1
In those early years, the church gathered in humble settings—a local hotel and later the Lions Club—trusting in the Lord's provision. In time, God graciously provided a church building, which was renovated through the faithful service of its members.
From the beginning, Providence has sought to be a church shaped by Scripture, committed to the gospel, and grounded in the historic truths summarized in the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith.
The church also became part of a wider gospel work, joining the Canadian National Baptist Convention (formerly CCSB) and helping form what is now CNBC Atlantic—a fellowship of churches seeking to advance the gospel across Atlantic Canada.
From its earliest days, Providence has carried a burden not only for its own community in Riverview, but also for the surrounding region, including the city of Dieppe, where the need for a strong evangelical witness has long been evident (Romans 10:14-15).
And through it all, we confess:
"From Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen."
Romans 11:36
